Where the Highlands Begin
Stirling was the strategic heart of Scotland for centuries whoever held its castle held the country. Perched on a crag above the old town, it was the seat of the Stuart kings and the place Mary, Queen of Scots was crowned as an infant. Nearby, the Wallace Monument rises over the field where William Wallace routed an English army in 1297.
From there the road runs west to Loch Lomond, the largest stretch of fresh water in Britain and the gateway to the Trossachs — the bonnie banks of the song, framed by the first real Highland peaks.
The day finishes at Glengoyne, a traditional distillery that sits right on the Highland Line. Your driver keeps the keys, so every member of the party can enjoy the tasting.

Questions About This Tour
Is the £620 per person or for the whole tour?
For the whole tour. One price for the vehicle, driver-guide and full ten hours, whether one of you travels or all six. Castle admission, distillery fees and lunch are separate.
Do we go inside the castle and the distillery?
You can do both. Tell us when you enquire and we’ll build in time and reserve entry — Stirling Castle is around £17.50 per adult and the Glengoyne tour and tasting around £20, both paid separately.
Can we all do the whisky tasting?
Yes — that’s the point of a private driver. Your guide stays sober and keeps the keys, so every adult in the party can enjoy the drams at Glengoyne.
Where do you collect us from?
Anywhere in Edinburgh — hotel, apartment, cruise terminal or the airport. Give us the address when you book and your guide will be waiting outside at the agreed time.
Can we change the stops?
Yes. Spend longer at Loch Lomond, swap in a different castle, or add a second distillery — tell us beforehand or on the morning and the day reshapes around you.
Is it suitable for limited mobility or children?
Largely yes — driving distances are comfortable and most stops have good access, though the castle sits on a hill. Tell us about any needs, child seats included, and we’ll plan around them.
How do we pay, and can we cancel?
Nothing is due to enquire. Once the day is agreed we take a small deposit, with the balance on the day. Cancel up to 48 hours beforehand and the deposit is refunded in full.
