Island Journeys From Edinburgh
Skye is the island we run as a set itinerary. Everything further out — Mull, Orkney, the Outer Hebrides — we build from scratch around your dates, because the ferries decide the shape of the trip.
Our set island itinerary. Glencoe on the way north, two nights in the Highlands and a full day on Skye — Eilean Donan, the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing — then the Fairy Pools and Loch Ness homeward.
Both our set multi-day journeys can be extended onto the islands, or combined with distilleries and castles along the way. The two-night Highland loop is the usual starting point.
We don’t run these to a fixed schedule — the ferry timetables change by season and decide the route. Tell us which islands you want and how long you have, and we’ll build the itinerary from scratch with stays arranged end to end.

Planning an Island Trip
Why Not a Day Trip?
Skye is roughly five hours' drive each way from Edinburgh. A day trip means ten hours in the car for two on the island — so we don't sell one. Two nights is the honest minimum.
Ferries Shape the Route
Sailings to Mull, Orkney and the Outer Hebrides run to seasonal timetables and can be cancelled in weather. We book around them and build slack into the plan.
Book Early for Rooms
Island accommodation is genuinely limited and fills months ahead in summer. Prices exclude accommodation, but we can hand-pick and book it for you.
